It is amazing that January is coming to a close already! We feel like we were just discussing with the third graders how they spent their winter vacations and here we are a month later! Time flies when you are having fun and learning a lot!
Science: We have spent our time this week understanding the parts of the water cycle. The students seem to be grasping these concepts very well. We are just about finished with our unit and will have a test late next week. A review will come home along with their water booklet so the students can prepare for the test. We will do in class reviewing as well. The students are excited about the optional science project that was sent home yesterday. This is when they can design their own science experiment to conduct and video at home. For more information please read the flyer.
Math: We are doing a three day telling time "Boot Camp." We felt that the telling time concepts (minutes before and after the hour, elapsed time, quarter to and quarter past) were very challenging for most of our students. We decided that having three days just dedicated to reviewing these concepts would help them feel more confident for next week's chapter three test. The test is scheduled for Thursday.
